Pinterest Procrastination

I’ve heard, seen, and been told about this website for a while, but I never got into it because I don’t need another addiction. I already don’t seem to have enough time to do homework, study for my classes, and study for ACT, so why would I have enough time for something that is a waste of time? I already have Instagram, Facebook, and YouTube to deal with in regards with addictions and time wasters.

But there is so much I could take without getting so curious as to what all this fascination is about. She is constantly showing me these cute pictures, quotes, bucket list things, and picture poses. The cutest and biggest baby eyes, wanting to go to paragliding, cute photo ideas for a possible future photo shoot. She just shows me all these things that I would love exploring for hours.

So after much pestering from my best friend, I  download the app on my phone and set it up. My first impression: I’m not very impressed.

Just a bunch of photos that I’m not interested in on the first screen I get to. So nothing too interesting. But as I delve further, I realized that I needed to explore all the options because there are too many to be catered towards more interests. By pinning more things, I can make my app look more like hers and more customized.

Mainly, I’m using Pinterest for pinning all my bucket list items. It gives me something to look forward to doing with my best friends! Or snowboarding things. Nostalgic feelings when I look up snow things. “Keep calm and snowboard”, Pictures of the cutest snowboarding gear, Perfect pictures of untouched soft powdery snow. It takes me back to the mountains. Or when I see photos I can imagine me and my best friends. If you can’t tell, I’m a sucker for anything cheesy. My friends calls me the cheesy one. I’m a sucker for cute proposal videos or cute couple videos. But I BLAME YOUTUBE.

I have so many boards for each topic. Every time I pin something, I categorize it into one of the boards. Or, I make a new one to suit a different category!

But to keep on the topic of food, I also started a food board! I’m finding some delicious looking foods and pinning them so that I could use them as a recipe in the book we’re creating! An easy way to find inspiration on recipes and food when inspiration is lacking!

So a day later, I have spent at least 3 hours on this app pinning different things and categorizing them into boards. 3 hours I probably should’ve spent doing homework. 3 extra hours that I’m going to NOT sleep tonight because I have such a large load of homework. Another addition to the endless addiction I have. Back to studying! Or going to Pinterest. Mostly likely Pinterest…..
